Ben Loy is a graduate of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU and has studied double bass under Martin Wind and Jay Elfenbein. He plays electric fretted, fretless and acoustic double bass and is experienced in playing a wide variety of styles.

As a professional bassist, Ben has recorded and performed with many fine acts including Nick Palumbo and the Flipped Fedoras, Jeremy Borer, Mitch Vandoff and Mrs. Grundy. He currently plays with The Last Broadcast and freelances with many singer-songwriters in the NY area.

Ben has performed at Irving Plaza, Swing 46, The Vanderbilt, CBGB's, The Vermont Jazz Festival, Arlene's Grocery, The C-Note, Don Hill's, The Village Underground and The World Financial Center. He has shared the stage with The Brotherhood of Groove, The New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, The Toasters, Joker Five Speed, The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

He recently moved to Astoria, NY and has been enjoying Sac's Pizza on 29th & Broadway way too often.
